Recently I got myself enrolled for a walking challenge with an intention to achieve serious results about my weight loss and get a healthy habit of walking for long term benefits. Within a week’s time it left me thinking with numerous questions unanswered.

How many of us are living a healthy lifestyle in today’s reality, where things and work are getting easier to be done with the help of advanced technologies and machines. We use elevators and lifts instead of stairs. Washing machine and vacuum have taken away physical work, we use to do before. Cooking has become effortless with mixer grinder, dough and roti makers. Reasons for obesity and other health issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid and many more are due to less physical exercises and more relaxed life style. Now what we do in gym for an hour with various exercises like weight lifting, body bump, elliptical, treadmill all can be done at home just bringing a little change in our lifestyle maintaining a regime for walking an hour a day. Start using stairs forgetting we have lifts around.

Before two decades, its true we never had gyms in demand. Now the present situation narrates its own story for awareness of fitness and also use of vehicles like bikes, scooters, cars and many more, immensely preferred rather then bicycle or walking.

There are so many events, activities happening these days like yoga, outdoor exercises, fitness challenges, special promotions for walking events, to create awareness for fitness and healthy lifestyle. Our body is our permanent home till we are alive. We should love it, take care of it. Many people participate in such events positively agreed.

As we are living in a competitive world, I wonder do people really participate in such challenges understanding that it’s for our own self and not to win or compete with others. Competitions are healthy no doubt but many a time’s main aim for participation is lost and forgotten. We shouldn’t be doing it for the sake of 1st prize and gifts only. It is basically to learn to adopt the healthy life style. It is to help one form a good habit and routine. Set a target for daily basis and try to accomplish that. Break your own records and not of others for others.

What I witness in the walking challenge was people were in race to defeat one other. The step’s targets before signing off for the day is set in such a way that other person can’t beat it. Daily an unbeatable target is set for all who are participating. Many started to get demotivated thinking this is unachievable and we can’t do it. No one was willing to hold hands and do it as team work inspiring each other to go till finish line or say achieve monthly target. What I saw was all age group had participated. And rather than boosting the elderly person youngster are in different mind-set of competition.

Aspire yourself to become an inspiration for other…

‘Struggling against thoughts is what causes stress’. Walking helps to destress the mind. A healthy walk daily for around 30 to 45 mins can take u a long way filing you up with positivity, making immune system strong, helping build the stamina. Aspire yourself to become an aspiration for others. Leave the competition and do it for yourself and see the change you get with a life time experience.

  2. Very well writeup on healthy life style. To adopte a healthy way of doing daily chores is the best way to engage our selves in a physical activity rather than to depend on machine. Some challenges are good motivations for adopte healty routine, but few people take that challenges in a wrong way and indulge them self in race of being number 1. They fail to understand that every one have a different ability n physics and their requirements. Hope people will understand n have a health life.
Keep the good work going on.. well done 👍

  11. With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement?

My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either created myself or
outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all
over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any
techniques to help prevent content from being ripped off?

    I’d genuinely appreciate it.
