Never lose focus
The tempo and excitement of New Year resolutions usually start to fade away in a few months, many times completely vanishing. For me, it’s essential to keep myself motivated till I accomplish my resolutions and stick to them till End. Every year teaches me to be more focused on my goals. Motivation requires attention regularly, so I have formed a habit to remind my subconscious mind by training it daily, attaching it with my habit of brushing my teeth first thing in the morning. Secondly, I stick a note on the mirror on my dressing table to read it daily, and it pushes me towards my targets. I stay firm with my resolution and work towards it daily.
New Year resolutions are made so that we can challenge ourselves. We all work hard to achieve our dreams and make them a success. New Year resolutions give us wings to fly and the motivation to succeed.
When I was a child, I never knew the seriousness of making a resolution for the New Year. We made promises and plans but failed to fulfil them, promising to follow through with our resolutions next year. Taking oaths and deciding is one thing, but working on a goal until it is realised is another. Life taught us that dreams are achievable, and you can become successful only with proper planning and determination.
Initially, when I used to make plans, I couldn’t accomplish them. I felt disheartened. Gradually I understood that just having a resolution is not enough. An effort needs to be put into achieving it.
For the last few years, my dedication has been helping me achieve my New Year resolutions. I have transformed my needs according to situations, setting realistic goals.
Last year I made a resolution to focus on my health. By the grace of God, and the support of my husband and family, I accomplished it. The second was to start writing again. I always felt I had an ocean of thoughts within me, I was shy with my pieces, but I realised that even if my work gave pleasure to one person, my job was done. So I recommend people to keep their resolutions simple and live each moment of life.
