Robots in, humans out? Real problems in virtual realm.
Recently when i visited Hong Kong, a technologically advanced country, I was overwhelmed and worried. I saw a combination of science and technology being incorporated in one’s daily life. There were fewer human beings being employed and more robots and a great use of Artificial Intelligence.
Technology has been improved and updated on a very vast and wide-scale quickly. Progress with improvements in artificial intelligence (AI) is remarkable. Some science fiction movies are great sources to understand how AI can transform the future and the world. It gives us a small indication of how it will improve in the coming decades.
It can wipe out people’s jobs.
Technology helps us improve our lives and make things easier. However, there are two sides to everything. Undoubtedly, AI will grow further, but I am sure it will have both a positive and a negative impact on the world. I cannot stop myself from agreeing that yes, while Artificial Intelligence will make life easier with all the advanced gadgets, what about human beings? Where will we go? Are jobs going to exit? Will they stay secure? Will the ‘human touch’ still be necessary, or will technology take over everything?
There are some aspects to be wary of…
Recently when I visited Hong Kong, a technologically advanced country, I was overwhelmed and worried. I saw a combination of science and technology is incorporated into one’s daily life. Fewer human beings were employed, more robots and machines and great use of science and artificial intelligence. Every individual had a device in hand and had their head bowed all the time. Things are readily available at the fingertips. Language is no longer a problem in a new place or country, as we have Google Translate and other applications. We have driverless cars, trains, automobiles and much more. This is proof of how technology is already overtaking the planet.
I still have confidence that Artificial Intelligence, hopefully, cannot replace human beings or overtake their role in the world. However, it can aid current functioning and be employed for security and defence strategies within and between the countries.
At the same time, if we compare, the last 10 years have been fruitful and a game-changer for the planet. Before, people hardly were aware of new aspects of life, but now, businesses are also increased and promoted through social media, giving a fair amount of profits. Moreover, it provides us with an opportunity to create something incredible.
