”Social media users promote ‘meaningless’ content”.
In today’s era, everyone wants to be safe. People these days want a hassle-free life. If we talk about the internet, almost everyone is on social media. They have accounts on various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Lately, all people want to do on social media is make things ‘viral’. There are three categories of users on the internet.
- One is the spectators. They scroll through
their timelines on different online platforms and before signing off for the
day. Many times it’s just for pleasure and is aimless. They personally don’t
want to participate in any thing and also don’t want to share anything on
social media.
” People are attracted to viral content”.
- The Second category belongs to those
people who are actually active on social media. These people are mostly always online.
They actively post photos, share videos and like the same for others. Such
people enjoy sharing their lives online and collecting likes. They do it to
show off.
”People must give attention to ‘worthy’ causes”.
- The last kind of online users is those
people who are trying to make difference and raise their voices for justice and
awareness. Such people create campaigns and appeal to people about various causes.
They use social media to make a difference and change lives.
But the question here is how many of us take things seriously on social media. Should we? Social media is a powerful tool and can change the world. So many things get promoted online, but for some reason, natural causes don’t.
People can make an egg go viral, but no one has the energy to make other important issues viral.
Why is the same effort not put in for global warming, racism, and other noble causes?
If we can give likes to useless posts and forward them, we can join hands for deserving issues and charity posts instead.
Let’s not make irrelevant material viral on social media for absolutely no reason. Instead, we should join hands to promise to promote what is actually deserving.
